How It Works

Be protected. Easily manage your money. We do the work.

1

Answer a few questions. Get a FREE portfolio based on your needs.

2

Buy this portfolio in your own brokerage account.

3

We'll watch your money and alert you when you need to make changes.

4

Sit back. Watch your money grow...saving 80% in fees.

We teach you.

You get a free education about a method of investing that Wall Street doesn't want you to learn about. This method knocks out most of the fees you've been paying to mutual funds, brokers and advisors. It is modeled after the strategy used by those who manage money for Harvard, Yale, endowments and wealthy families.

We give you a portfolio

Using this method, we then let you build a free portfolio and show you exactly what the fees are. You'll see that they are 80% cheaper than using a financial advisor and mutual funds.

We watch and track it for you

We want you to convince yourself. For as long as you'd like and for free, we track this portfolio for you and alert you when you need to make changes. Compare it to whatever else you're doing and inevitably you'll see this portfolio beats the pants off it.

We do business (we hope!)

We believe that you'll quickly get the hang of it and want to start managing your own money using the MarketRiders System. If so, you'll want to subscribe to our premium service so that you can use our online tools to make it easy to manage, track, and monitor your portfolio. Our premium subscriptions are about $100-$250 per year depending upon the # of size of your portfolios.

The net result? You might just end up having 2 times more money in 15 years and we'll make a few bucks when you use our software.

Do you profit from the ETFs you recommend in your portfolios? Are you affiliated with any ETF providers?

No. We have no affiliation with any financial institution or ETF provider. We will refuse affiliation opportunities that would bias the community or this site in any way.

What happens to my personal and community information? Who owns it?

Amounts invested in your portfolio are NEVER disclosed. If you share a portfolio with the community, only asset class allocation %'s and ETFs will be displayed and it is public information. If you do not share a portfolio, it is your property, your information and MarketRiders not sell or share it with others. We will aggregate community information regarding portfolio allocations and trends for the community to see and this will be owned by MarketRiders. Please read our Privacy Policy.

What are MarketRider Mentors? How can I become one?

Mentors are community members who have volunteered to teach others about investing using the MarketRiders System. They are pre-approved by MarketRiders and must have demonstrated some financial training and experience with investing using asset allocation strategies. Any member can apply to be a Mentor when registering. Mentors can answer questions in the Q&A forum, post blog entries on relevant investment topics, and respond to members' private questions. Financial advisors who agree to charge only by the hour, can get referrals to members who may need a little assistance getting started.

What about your broker relationships?

MarketRiders doesn't offer brokerage services, just information about brokers. Because of our philosophy, a broker is just a place to deposit your portfolio. Our portfolio management software directs you on what trades to make in an online brokerage account. We track and manage your portfolio outside of the broker account.

We do care about price per trade and safety in case your broker goes bankrupt. The brokers we recommend are insured by the Securities Investor Protection Corp. (SIPC), which covers you for $100,000 in cash and $500,000 total. In addition, we recommend brokers that carry insurance above and beyond the SIPC insurance. All of our brokers offer trades for under $10.

The rest is up to you. For example, if you like to visit your broker and one of our recommended brokers has an office in your town, then use that broker. We do not advocate trading or researching stocks, so we don't rate the trading tools and research brokers provide.

Several brokers pay us to promote their services to you. If you'd like to sign up with any of them, or if you want to learn more, we've made it pretty easy to just click on one of their ads and be transported magically to the spot where you can fill in your application or request more information. The more people who do so, the more our advertisers will like us and the more money they'll be willing to pay us which helps us pay for MarketRiders.

There are other brokers out there. We offer these quality sponsor brokers as a starting point for your comparison shopping. If one of these brokers fits your needs (and we hope one of them will) -- great! By all means open an account today through our site. As always, we encourage you to do your homework and make the decision that's right for you.

Choosing the broker that is best for you is your responsibility and MarketRiders will not be liable, whether you open an account with one of the advertisers on our site or with a broker named Bob, down by the racetrack. The end result, we hope, is that you'll find a broker you're happy with, open an account, and begin the exciting process of managing your portfolio with MarketRiders.
